THIRD CONSOLIDATION PACKAGE
We bring you a summary of important changes within the
approved Act No. 261/2025 Coll. amending and
supplementing certain laws in connection with the with the
consolidation of public finances from 2026:
Abolition of Public Holidays, Shops Open on Several
Holidays
One of the changes will be effective already in 2025 and it is
the abolition of 17th November as a public holiday. This
date will no longer be recognized as a public holiday or a
non-working day for the purposes of the Labour Code.
